Friends swear by this place. Finally got to try them out during an all girl outing and they didn't disappoint. I'm certain they are a little extra for their repeat customers and associates because my plate was huge! They weight on it was serious. First the employees are super nice and friendly - greeting many people by name. The King Fish or Snapper is a must. Depending on the day I'll say it's better than Donna's. Callaloo and Steam Vegetables are always flavorful. After a few repeat tries the only negative thing I can add - I can never seem to arrive when there are fried dumplings!
I had food catered, and myself and my guest loved everything. I ordered it the week of and everything was ready ontime and plentiful. I recommend the curry goat. The customer service not so nice but that's typical with a Jamaican restaurant so I don't expect any better lol The food is consistently good and the portions are great!!!
I've been to Carl's Seafood Take-Out Restaurant quite a few times so this review is long overdo. I have had the curry goat with rice and peas and cabbage several times. The goat is tender. It's pretty spicy so be aware of that. You have to like spicy food to enjoy it. I love spicy foods. The spicier the better. It is sooo delicious! It's my favorite! The cooked cabbage is tender and slightly seasoned. I like it. We've also eaten the fish soup, the curry chicken, and the brown stew chicken. I usually finish my meal with a DG Genuine ginger beer. Sooo refreshing! I encourage you to give it a try! The food has been consistently delicious! They can be a bit slow but I don't mind waiting for good food and the prices are reasonable.
